Gail's Musings: Factoids about Moi

Hi Verena,

I am responding to your request for information about me. I was leery of being redundant to my classmates as we have gone through this process a few times together. So I feared my post would seem..."Blah blah blah" Well, this is for you then....Here goes:

1. I was born in San Diego CA - my father was career military so we moved every 6 months to 3 years. I attended 3 different schools in 3 different states in 6th grade.

2. My younger sister was born on the Island of Guam.

3. I studied Voice privately for 10 years in Opera, Classical and Broadway styles.

4. I used to be a radio DJ at a classic rock station in CT (WPLR) for 8 years. I did the overnight shift and some Saturday Mornings.

5. As a news reporter for WICC, I covered the Richard Crafts murder trial (he killed his wife, chopped her body up and put her through a wood chipper.) The trial was so disturbing I decided I did not want to be a news reporter.

6. When in my 20's I was told by my physician that I would never be able to have children.

7. I have 3 beautiful, talented, loving, smart children ages 23, 19 and 13. (Don't tell ME I can't do something! lol)

8. All 3 of my children sing very well, we sing in the car and harmonize. Those moments are some of my favorites.

9. I'm of Irish, Turkish, German, Welsh and Native American descent.

10. I am a Level III Reike Practitioner.

11. I was the lead singer in 2 rock bands in my 20's: KAOS, and Exposure and a jazz band: The Warm Fuzzies.

What is the best vacation you've ever taken? In August my husband took me on my first cruise (to Bermuda)!! It was totally amazing.
What is your favourite movie? The Perks of Being a Wallflower and The Help. (And all Ironman Movies cuz I totally love Robert Downey Jr.)
Describe a time when you were the happiest. The moment the Dr. laid each of my babies in my arms.
Who should teachers be paying attention to on Twitter or in the blogosphere? NPR
What are your top three favourite books of all time? Little Women, the Game of Thrones Series, anything by Janet Evanovich or Harlan Coban.
What advice do you have on love? Go for it. Say how you feel. You may get hurt...you may get loved back.
What is on your bucket list?
Travel to Ireland and Germany; See the Aurora Borealis; move south; Retire and work at Disney as a Liberty Singer at the Hall of Presidents.
What is the best advice you can give to your children?
Don't diminish yourself to fit in or make others feel comfortable around you. Shine!

If you could sit with any 5 people dead or alive around your dinner table who would you choose and why?

My Mother - I miss her so much it hurts.
Jesus - Just to know him.
Mary Magdalen - I want to get her story first hand. Pretty sure she wasn't a prostitute as the Church would have us believe..and was there a brother??
