Google Sites...You will not defeat me
Ok...so recently I posted a blog title: Google Sites--- Don't Lose 'Em! And I am happy to report that I have ALMOST made peace with Google Sites, in trying to create a website for Technology in Early Childhood Education. I have been able to find a format and post pictures, files and insert text. My webpage is coming along. But creating a website in Google Sites really is not user friendly until you get in the thick of it and make all kinds of mistakes and get frustrated and leave and think about it and watch tutorials and read help links. They definitely could improve on their process of helping first time users get started.
So far I have materials I will use at an upcoming training at the CTAEYC Conference in Waterbury this weekend. I decided to go green and refer attendees to my webpage, rather than running off multiple copies of resources and handing them out, mostly to be thrown away at some point. This way I can post my webpage link in the room and they cal access all for the hand outs there. :) yay.
I was also able to connect the Padlet wall that I started for my teachers last semester, so hopefully that will get more activity as well.
I guess for a FREE website Google Sites is pretty cool. I'm sure if I paid for a site it would have been easier to get started, as I would have had tech help. But there is satisfaction in persevering and teaching myself. Please check out my webpage and +1 it and comment. Thanks!!!
